Ljudmila, media lab digital of Ljubljana, in collaboration with Swiss Mechatronic Art Society of Zurich and Medialab-Prado organize this Interactivos?'12 Ljubljana. Obsolete Technologies of the Future will take place from September 5 to 15, where six selected projects will be collaboratively developed. The workshop will be dedicated to explorations of Obsolete Technologies of the Future, collaborative prototyping vol. 1, rethinking the qualities of outdated technology and making way for a long-term, sustainable usage of technology in our environment in the decades to come.

The Internet of Things is an important and rapidly growing domain but difficult to get started because it touches several different specialties: software development for small devices, networking, electronics, and, in some cases, also mechanics.
This workshop will provide those who want to experiment with IoT concepts the skills and tools they will need to begin turning their ideas into projects for personal satisfaction or professional benefits. You will have experience with one open source hardware and software platform and will take your prototyping board with you at the conclusion of the workshop.

In diesem Workshop werden unter der Anleitung von ISRO (Indian Sonic Research Organisation) gemeinsam mit den Schweizer Künstler- und Hacker-Kollektiven anyma & SGMK mobile VJ Boxen gebaut (eine Art Rioji Ikeda für die Hosentasche). Experimente mit Kathodenröhren (haben wir früher mal Fernseher genannt :-), Oszillatoren und alten Videokameras. Im weiteren können die Teilnehmer mit einfachen Sound-Elektroniken rumspielen und unterschiedlichste Lo-Fi Töne aus Indischen "holy chanting" Musikkästchen, Shruti Boxes und Buddha Machines rausholen, und darauf mit diesen X-spiritual Sound Hack Klangwelten unterschiedliche Verbindungen zu den Videoexperimenten erforschen.
Kosten : CHF 10.- (inklusive aller verbauten Materialien, welche die Teilnehmer mit nach Hause nehmen können) Die Bezahlung kann direkt am Workshop im Walcheturm gemacht werden.

LiWoLi is a community festival, open lab and annual meeting spot for
artists, educators and developers using and creating Free Software
(FLOSS), Open Hardware and Open Design in the artistic and cultural
context. This event is all about sharing artistic skills, code and
knowledge within the public domain and discussing the challenges of an
open practice.
This year's edition will have a special focus on artworks that can be
created, performed or exhibited outdoors and in public space. Like every
year, numerous activities such as lectures, workshops and audiovisual
performances will take place during the course of this three-day festival.

Activities are welcome which have a scientific and/or artistic-cultural
approach by developing and using tools for urban hacking, digital street
art, public interventions, social spaces, community sensor networks,
guerilla communication, wardriving, surveillance, schwarzfahren, open
data, mapping,...
*Workshops*
Artists, developers and educators are invited to present their work in
order to share their ideas, skills, code, products and experience within
a workshop, presentation and/or outdoor activities.
*Lectures*
We are interested in scientific, philosophical and political lectures
dealing with the challenges of open practices, investigating the economy
of open systems, exploring new ways of living and producing.
*Performances*
Audiovisual artists, composers and musicians using FLOSS, Open Hardware
or hacked toys as well as live-coding acts are welcome to perform at a
great venue in the Stadtwerkstatt (http://stwst.at) with the best
sound-equipment in town! The performances will be recorded and published
in the free radio-archive (http://cba.fro.at) under a Creative Commons
license.

Es gibt keine Workshops, kein Programm, keine Leitung, sondern einfach nur Zeit und Raum, an eigenen Projekten weiterzuforschen und sich auszutauschen.

Construis ton robot "suiveur de lumière" avec la Société suisse d'arts mécatroniques. L'assemblage est très simple et tu pourras repartir avec. Quelques pièces, un peu de soudure, un peu de colle et ton robot est prêt à trouver une source de lumière ou à suivre un chemin sur le sol. Le robot est composé de deux moteurs et trois pièces électroniques montées sur un circuit ludique et intuitif.
Pour enfants de 8 - 16 ans.
